MANILA- September 5, 2019 marked another Culinaire edition in the calendar of SMX Convention Center. The exclusive event is one of the signature events of SMX Convention Center where long-time and new clients gather in one venue to taste and savor the food creations of the 15 caterers. This year’s theme was inspired by constellations.

15 accredited caterers competed for 7 awards but only 3 came out as winners:

Best Table Centerpiece – Juan Carlo

Best Appetizer –               Juan Carlo (Scallop with Pastis Prado Wine)

Best Main Course –          Bizu (Smoked Beef Brisket with Chipotle Adobo Sauce on Carrot Mashtini)

Best Dessert –                   The Creamery (Champorado Brulee topped with Dilis and Pearl)

Star of the Night –           The Creamery (Grilled Miso Marinated Sea Bass on Soba Noodle Salad, Clams, Cream Sauce and Tapioca Pearl)

Best Set-up –                     Juan Carlo

People’s Choice –             Juan Carlo

The other caterers who also participated were Conrad Manila, Albergus Catering, Hizon’s Catering, Josiah’s Catering, Event Shaker Mobile Bar, LJC Restaurant Group, Manila Catering, Tjioe The Caterer, Via Mare, M Catering and Fine Foods, Kitchen City Catering Philippines and Goldilocks, the newest addition to SMX list of accredited caterers. Online voting by the guests was done during the program while Star of the Night award, an out of this world dish created entirely for the event, was judged by Anton Diaz of Our Awesome Planet,  Lechon Diva Dedet dela Fuente and JJ Yulo of Pinoy Eats World.

The over-all experience was made more exciting by a raffle draw of hotel gift certificates from partner hotels– Conrad Manila, Park Inn by Radisson Clark, Park Inn by Radisson Davao, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo, Radisson Blu Cebu, Taal Vista Hotel and Pico Sands Hotel. Different Digital, Spin 360, Avolution, Photoman and Tom’s World added more appeal and excitement to the event as event sponsors.
